Global Offshore, a leading provider of trenching and power cable laying capabilities within the oil & gas sector, and part of the Global Marine Group, has announced the successful completion of two important projects in the North Sea. The consecutive projects for key major clients in the oil & gas market, involved pre and post-lay survey, umbilical installation, and trenching operations using two of the Group’s key assets, the Global Symphony and the powerful Q1400 trencher.
The first of to the two projects involved the installation of temporary turning bollards, construction of concrete mattress crossings, and installation of the replacement 6km umbilical. This was followed by trenching in difficult seabed conditions, utilising the Q1400 in hybrid mode, ensuring product stability and protection on the seabed. The second project followed quickly and included trenching, again utilising the Q1400 in hybrid mode, and the ROV survey of a 3.5km, 6 inch flexible flowline.
Mr Mike Daniel, Managing Director of Global Offshore, commented, “We’re really pleased to have executed both of these projects for major oil & gas clients to such a high standard and have received outstanding levels of feedback from both customers. Trenching is an integral element of cable installation and provides our customers with peace of mind for long-term resilience of their assets on the seabed.”
Mr. Daniel continued, “Global Offshore has the knowledge, experience, vessels and subsea equipment needed to meet the demands of oil & gas companies operating around the world. We’re optimistic about the market recovery we are seeing and are building a solid backlog of short-term and long-term work.”
