There always seems to be a sporting challenge on the horizon for our colleagues here at Global Marine Group, and we’re always looking to make a difference to our local communities when we do so.
January was no exception, with three of our team taking on the annual Concept2 rowing challenge with the aim of reaching a combined total of over 1,000,000 metres throughout the month. To see them across the ‘finish line’ for the end of their challenge, they brought the challenge into our head office to get support from colleagues right across the business. For one day only over 20 different rowers joined the core team for some final inspiration to dig deep and reach that huge target.
Together, Craig Beech, Spike Johns and Dave Dunk reached a whopping 1,134,711 metres in January, sitting them comfortably in the top spot of the global leaderboard for the challenge, by metres per rower. The support team on the final day amassed another 130,906m on top. What an achievement, and a brilliant showcase of the Global Marine Group team spirit in action – working together to be a part of something hugely significant.
Congrats to all involved, and if you’d like to support the chosen charity for the event – Farleigh Hospice, a local charity to our Head Office in Chelmsford – the justgiving page is still open and taking donations – we’d love your help to continue making a difference to our local communities.
What’s next for our teams across the globeā¦?!
