15 year work anniversary for Sam Moncur

Beginning in an administration role, Sam joined the business in 2010, and now assists in the management of our North America Zone maintenance agreement. “Over the past 15 years, I’ve gradually progressed through positions in both the Subsea team as well as Tendering across multiple business units, including becoming the Head of Tendering, eventually transitioning into my current role. I’ve been lucky to have had a lot of opportunities come my way over my time here, which has helped me grow and take on different roles within the organisation.”

Nothing stays the same for long, and Sam has seen many changes across the Group during her 15 years with the business, though she says that “the core of having such knowledgeable, experienced and supportive people hasn’t ever changed.”

“There have been plenty of highlights over the years, but being chosen to represent the company at SubOptic earlier this year really stands out. It was a great experience, and I felt genuinely grateful for the chance to be out in the industry, connecting with so many interesting and knowledgeable people.”

When we asked Sam what the key to her successes at GMG have been she advises to always be curious, get to know the people around you to leverage their knowledge and experience, and of course be open to opportunities – of which she’s had plenty thrown her way. “I love surrounding myself with people who push me to grow.”
