Working at Global Marine Group
Our colleagues are at the heart of our success. We are committed to supporting their wellbeing at all times. This includes maintaining high standards of physical health and safety, promoting positive mental wellbeing, and encouraging volunteering opportunities. By supporting this involvement, we help our colleagues make a positive difference in the communities where we live and work.

Volunteering across the globe
Volunteering is an important part of life at Global Marine Group. We give employees around the world up to three days of paid leave each year to support causes in their local communities. This allows our people to give back and make a positive impact where they live and work.
“The volunteering programme is a fantastic initiative. It gives employees the opportunity to support causes that matter to them and raise awareness of important issues, such as the challenge we completed for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Taking part was a rewarding experience. I plan to join next year’s challenge and it has inspired me to get involved in more community volunteering in the future.” – Claire, Finance Business Partner
An inclusive, equal opportunities employer
Our organisation is built on talented people, and we are committed to supporting and investing in them every day. Our colleagues bring a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, skills, and perspectives. We value these differences and recognise the strength they bring to our organisation.
An inclusive culture helps everyone feel respected, supported, and able to contribute. It also allows us to benefit from new ideas and different viewpoints. We believe this creates a happier, more productive workplace for all.

Health & wellbeing
At Global Marine Group, the health and wellbeing of our people is our top priority. We are committed to creating a healthy, supportive workplace for everyone. This includes colleagues working in our offices and sites, onboard our vessels, remotely from home, or in the field.
We offer a range of wellbeing initiatives to support both physical and mental health. These include access to trained Mental Health First Aiders, weekly yoga sessions, running clubs, cross-training activities, and lunch clubs. Colleagues can also benefit from free fruit, motivational speakers, workplace massages, volunteering leave, charity initiatives, and our annual Wellbeing Week.
By investing in wellbeing, we help our people stay healthy, feel supported, and perform at their best.
Supporting our communities
Our primary charity partner is the Ninos Pag Asa Centre in Olongapo, Philippines. The centre supports people who are not assisted by other agencies. It provides medical care, education programmes, skills training, and community-based rehabilitation for residents and people in the local area.
Global Marine Group has supported the centre since 1998, when Cable Retriever, our vessel serving the local maintenance region, first arrived in Olongapo.

We also support fundraising initiatives across the UK. These include our annual Pedal, MeaNDa Walk, and Rowing Challenges. Together, these events have raised funds for charities such as Farleigh Hospice, the Children’s Cancer Trust, and Macmillan.

Creating environments to help people thrive
We are committed to creating workspaces that help our employees thrive.
At Ocean House, our head office in Chelmsford, we have a dedicated breakout area where colleagues can relax, connect, and recharge. Taking regular breaks away from screens can help improve focus, wellbeing, and productivity. The space includes comfortable seating, a lunch area with kitchen facilities, a pool table, a dartboard, a book swap, and even a jigsaw corner. These facilities encourage colleagues to take time out, build connections, and return to work feeling refreshed.
