Global Marine Group Appoints Simon Hibberd
as Chief Executive Officer

08 July 2026

Global Marine Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Hibberd as Chief Executive Officer,
effective 10 July 2026.

Simon brings more than 30 years of experience in the offshore and subsea telecommunications industry, with a distinguished career spanning both Global Marine Group and SBSS. Having joined Global Marine in 1989, Simon progressed through the seafaring ranks to become a Master before moving ashore in 2007. Since then, he has held several senior operational and leadership roles across the UK and Indonesia, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer of SBSS.

His extensive industry knowledge, proven operational leadership and deep understanding of Global Marine’s business position him strongly to lead the Group through its next phase of growth and development.

As we welcome Simon to the role, we would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Paul Deslandes for his leadership as Interim Chief Executive Officer during the transition period. Paul has provided steady, thoughtful guidance, ensuring business continuity while maintaining momentum across the Group’s key strategic priorities.

We are pleased that Paul will continue to play a significant leadership role within Global Marine Group. Drawing on his deep knowledge of the business, strong customer relationships and valuable leadership experience, Paul will work closely with Simon and the executive team to support the delivery of the Group’s strategic growth plans and help shape the next chapter of Global Marine’s development.

Since Keppel’s acquisition of Global Marine Group in March 2025, the business has made significant progress across several strategic initiatives. Key achievements include the successful extension of both the SEAIOCMA and ACMA maintenance agreements, the acquisition of two new vessels, and continued growth across the Group’s two additional business units. OceanIQ has expanded its presence in the maritime analytics market, while SubConnect has advanced innovative solutions for the defence sector, strengthening and enhancing the Group’s core installation and maintenance capabilities.

Looking ahead, Keppel remains firmly committed to Global Marine Group’s long-term growth strategy. With a strong leadership team in place and a clear strategic direction, the Group is well positioned to capitalise on future opportunities, strengthen its market position and continue delivering value for customers, employees and investors.

Please join us in welcoming Simon to his new role and wishing him every success as he leads Global Marine Group into its next phase of growth.
